每年端午节前半个月,武昌司门口有一家店前要排起长龙。分列的队伍不绝延伸到200米开外的长江大桥桥墩。对于老武汉人来说,吃一口他们家的绿豆糕,才算是过节。


这家百年老字号是从一个小摊贩做起,至今已有132年的历史,历经三代人走过了提篮子、挑担子、摆摊子、开店子、办厂子的艰苦创业路,创建了“曹祥泰”,得到了上至人民总理周恩来下到普通老百姓的好评。

老谦记始创于1918年,店址设于武昌青龙巷(现在武汉市武昌区民主路与中华路之间巷名相沿未改),当时供应品种仅有牛腩、牛肉炒豆丝、牛肉煨汤原汤豆丝、清汤豆丝等五种。


店里的格式不多,但由于冯谦伯精于烹调,样样都有特殊滋味,因而到处颂扬,享盛名几十年,至今还有少数健在的老人津津乐道。

19年前,长毛烧烤在桃花岛麒麟路最初的店面,只是一个小小的夫妻烧烤摊。做到现在,长毛烧烤城有27、8个员工,买单的、烧烤的、做煎饺跟三鲜煲的,各司其职,个个动作麻利。论口碑跟规模,在汉阳,数一数二。


最初不少人来桃花岛的来由,只有一个,吃长毛烧烤。烤凤爪,先卤的入味,再撒上佐料翻烤,外焦内糯;烤腰子,块大肉厚,完全吃不出骚味;铁板蒜蓉茄子,蒜香浓郁入味......

传说朱元璋带兵攻克武昌,曾用五里界粉蒸肉犒劳将士,众将士连称:“好肉!好肉!”厥后,朱元璋称帝,建立了明朝政权。


一次,他来到江夏龙泉山(这里有他的王妃墓)巡察,地方官员用五里界粉蒸肉招待他,因其油而不腻,嫩而香滑,大受朱元璋赞赏,便赐五里界粉蒸为“贡品”,一时间,五里界粉蒸肉声誉极高,以致相传至今。

张店鱼面是湖北新洲的一种传统小吃,以鲜鱼作原料,配以一定比例的面粉、淀粉或薯粉加工而成,可煮、可炒、可炸,鱼香浓烈,俗名捶鱼。


大约在清朝咸丰年间,张店街有家“库泰丰”商号,专门从事捶鱼的制作与销售。制作工艺不绝流传至今,是新洲的大众菜肴。
